KEYBOARD
(Part Number BS 5000)

  • On every HYBALL two lines of text can be inserted on the video overlay during the system start up routine using the hand controller joystick and keypad.
  • The keyboard option makes it possible to edit, insert or delete text during ROV operations.

CAMERAS

A
Every HYBALL is fitted with the latest generation high resolution and sensitivity colour CCD camera as standard. As well as the fixed forward facing ROV lights, this camera has its own pair of camera tracking lights on the camera chassis board.

B
An optional low light black and white camera can also be fitted for those turbid water conditions and to assist navigation. This camera has its own pair of variable intensity tracking lights. During use the camera chassis is rotated to face forward using the hand controller keypad.

STILLS
Although video printers are gaining in popularity, a stills camera with 20mm lens can be fitted inside the HYBALL. When fired from the hand controller keypad, the camera chassis automatically rotates 90 degrees clockwise to photograph the colour video camera's scene and then rotates back to its start position. The number of shots taken is displayed on the video overlay.

   

SONARS

Sonar greatly improves the operational capability of an ROV, particularly for navigation, search and survey operations. The 'eyes' of the vehicle can be extended as far as 100 metres beyond visual range The best sonar for interface to Hyball is the Sonavision Mercury, a 600-1200kHz tuneable sonar. Sonar Control and Display software can be loaded onto a PC and interfaced to the sonar via the Surface Control Unit. OFFSHORE HYBALL is provided with a sonar interface kit as standard. For HYBALL, an interface kit, KT 9000, is required.

   

MANIPULATOR
(Part Number DV 7000)

  • This clever single function manipulator has three 100mm jaws enabling vertical or horizontal objects be grasped without the need of the rotate function needed with two jaw manipulators.

It is the ideal tool for light recovery tasks attaching a line or for freeing a trapped umbilical. Open and close of the jaws is controlled from the Surface Unit keypad with "Open/Close Manipulator" displayed in the video overlay. Hyball needs the KT 7000 interface to operate the manipulator option. OFFSHORE HYBALL is fitted with a manipulator interface kit as standard.

   

CATHODIC POTENTIAL PROBES
(Part Number DV 8000)

  • Both Contact and Proximity CP Probes can be fitted.
  • Cathodic Potential is displayed on the video overlay for recording when CP option is selected on the Surface Unit keypad.

CP Probes can be supplied factory fitted or as a kit with fitting instructions. A complete CP interface is supplied as standard with OFFSHORE HYBALLS. Owners of these systems need only fit the probe itself and connect up to the appropriate penetrator.

   

SHIPPING CONTAINERS
(Part Number BS 9521 & BV 9520)

The Surface Unit Shipping Container holds the Surface Control Unit in the centre section with two sections provided for spares and accessories. Dimensions 970 x 590 x 640 mm.

The Vehicle Shipping Container holds the ROV. Dimensions 730 x 600 x 760 mm. Shipping Containers are provided as standard with OFFSHORE HYBALLS.
