SV2000 has become a standard for the operators of the larger observation class ROVs, particularly in the oil and gas industry. It was the smallest in the Sonavision range until Mercury was introduced in 2004.
As a single frequency 500kHz system, it gave excellent long range performance and ROV operators like its sturdy construction, oil filled soft booted head, conventional component electronics and of course, the high resolution that comes from the 1:3 composite transducers used across the Sonavision range.
The modular SV2000 is widely available using the new Mercury sized surface mount component population, PCB's and is offered as a direct replacement for any SV2000 in the field. Sonavision continue to support and repair the SV2000, offering sonar head replacement kits, PCB's, motors. seals etc.
Typical users of the SV2000 are Rovtech, Bluestream, Subsea 7 and ISS.
